Help a teacher out! Can you spare $1.20

August 13th, 2009 · No Comments

Got this request for help!

My name is Sarah Futrell, Marianne Murchison’s big sister, who ends up at your home under all kinds of strange and unusual circumstances. Of course, I am a (Shoal) Creeker, and I am also a teacher at Wyandotte High School in KCK. I LOVE my job and LOVE my students, but due to the nature of my work I spend A LOT of money suppling students with school supplies. I have been out of town the last few weeks; and, unfortunately, missed the web site that you set up for needy families and kids. I am sending this email to ask for 6 cent support. Office Max has 70 sheet spiral notebooks for 1 penny each, which was VERY exciting to me, but of course their was a catch. The catch is, there is a limit of 3 wide ruled and 3 college ruled per customer. I begged and pleaded with the manager and although the employees were willing to ring the notebooks I needed up 6 at the time the manager would not allow it. My request is to enlist the help of 20 people.

If each of the 20 persons went to Office Max and spent 6 pennies to buy 6 notebooks I could supply a notebook to each of my students for $1.20, which would offset the cost of the other supplies that I need to buy. Apparently, recessions cause inflation to back to school supply costs.

Exact needs are as follows:
5 people to buy 6 red notebooks each
5 people to buy 6 blue notebooks each
5 people to buy 6 green notebooks each
5 people to buy 6 purple notebooks each
At Office Max each person would only need to spend 6 cents each, which I would GLADLY reimburse! If they could then bring the notebooks to church I could collect them and reimburse the generous donors of time and energy.

Please feel free to email me with questions or comments or call me at 429-5710.
