Parents – Easter Sunday Buya Students
April 4, 2010
This Sunday, I sat in the Wonka Hall, keeping time for a special small group orientated Easter Sunday. My prayer for the students was that they would find healing for the wounds of their souls, healing in their disconnection from the One Father, and that the joy that comes from Jesus’ healing would fuel a passion to bring that same healing to the relationships they have with their friends.
Parents, here’s the video we watched, I think you’ll very much like it yourselves.
Here are some of the questions we asked as the students rotated through different Easter stations.
Read Mark 15:22-32
What role has suffering played in your life?
How has pain affected who you are today?
Jesus went through more pain than anyone else ever has. Do you think Jesus can understand the pain that you have been through in your life?
Read Luke 22:14-20
Do you give life in your relationships with others, or do you take life away?
Jesus was the ultimate and perfect example of a person that cares more about others than himself. What is Jesus wanting you to do in your relationships?
Read Luke 22:3-6
What has betrayal done to you?
When have you counted on someone to be there for you and come through for you and be on your side, and then they let you down?
What has that done to your ability to trust others and God? Jesus knew that he would be betrayed in the end and die because of it. Yet he did not build walls around his heart.
Is God asking you to tear down the walls around your heart
Read John 20:1-8
Are you a hopeful person, or are you a doubter?
When was the last time a real dream or meaningful desire came true for you?
Is it possible for you to put your greatest hope, dream, and your life in Jesus Christ?
