Crash

June 19, 2008

Fusion is happening this Sunday. It’ll be our second one of this summer and all of us on the planning team are pretty excited about this one. Without giving everything away, we’re planning an extended worship set over God’s desire to be with you in the highs and the lows.

It’s easy to feel blessed by God when life is going great and it’s easier to feel like God is absent when life is really causing pain in your life. But it’s extremely important for us to realize that God is always present, and more importantly, always has a purpose for everything that happens: victories, failures, broken relationships, disappointments, friendships.

We’re going to take time to ponder these thoughts on Sunday night at Fusion.

The Gathering - This week we plan to create some awkward moments with a photo scavenger hunt. Bring your camera, and a little bit of gumption, cause your going to need it to make it through what we’re going to stick to you.

Justin Talley Gone

June 18, 2008

Not that it makes a difference at all in what we’re doing, but just a little FYI.  I, Justin Talley, will be gone from June 23rd through July 3rd on a mission trip to Croc, Mexico with some fellow Shoal Creekers, plus some. In my absence, Colin Moran will be the one you need to send any questions, comments or concerns to. His email is cmo816@gmail.com and his phone number is 816-582-4454.

Crash Upcoming…

June 15, 2008

The Gathering will meet at 6:00 in the Underground then take off and go to the Liberty Junior High for some ultimate frisbee. We’ll be back at the Underground at 8:00. There’s no cost or anything involved, but maybe bring a few bucks in case a spur of the moment ice cream run emerges.

Last Friday night was the Pool Party and Bonfire for the Crash students. It was way fun. We had about 15-20 people there total, got hit in the face with some waterguns, you know, the fun stuff. Sorry if y’all missed out, but definitely come tomorrow night to frisbee to get in the loop of what’s going on!

The (Buzz)

Plunge is our evening program for Buya students that is designed to take students on the next step of their spiritual journey. It starts at 6:00 and ends at 8:00. Tonight’s theme is “Summer Highlights and Bloopers.” We’ll have some videos, a message, and small groups.  Here are some of the qoutes from parents from the last Plunge:

It was an awesome evening!!! [My daughter] really enjoyed the night! Very cool how the “theme followed through the entire service”!! The music was also amazing, you could look around and see the kids singing along and really listening!!”

“[My daughter] really liked the set, music and the sand art project. She said the message was meaningful and enjoyed the small group time. She has totally bought into the Sunday night idea and can’t wait to do it again.]

“My son had a great time, he said it was awesome.”

It’s a great night!

Baptism for Shoal Creek is this Wednesday. It’s the most celebrated night of the year and is an awesome family experience. Everybody is going to turn out for this event to celebrate the amazing things that have happened in individual’s lives. If you want, bring your swimsuit and trunks, $4, and some food. We do this at the Sherwood Rec Center. Click here for details about location, times, and more details.
